Looking for a gift for a drone pilot, but not sure whether they fly whoops, freestyle or shoot cinematic footage? And what on earth do BNF, ELRS or O4 mean? Don't worry, we've put together gift ideas for FPV pilots that anyone can find their way around: parents, partners, friends and pilots who want to drop a "subtle" hint with their wish list.

We've sorted the gifts by budget, by who they're for and by flying style. For every product you can see the current price and stock straight from our e-shop, so anything in stock can ship right away.
1. Do they already fly, or are they just starting? For a beginner, get a complete set (RTF) or a radio and a simulator; for an experienced pilot, an accessory or an upgrade.
2. What goggles do they have? Analog, DJI, Walksnail or HDZero? Choose drones and cameras to match.
3. What connector do their batteries have? BT2.0, XT30 or XT60? Just take a photo of a battery and send it to our team.
Not sure? No problem - pick something from the small gifts category, these suit almost every pilot.

Drone, radio and goggles in one box. Ideal for first flights in the living room.
STARTFPV S8 Simulator Controller (white)
Fly on the computer without breaking drones. The best first step before a real drone.
Who it's for
Gifts for teens
For those who want more than a toy and might even build their own drone.
🧑 Teens🔧 Building🌀 Freestyle
Teens often aren't happy with a ready-made set and want to do it "their way". Our seventeen-year-old pilot Honza built his first 5" drone himself. That's why a good tip is to put a set together from separate parts: whoop, radio and goggles separately - each piece will still be useful when they move on to bigger drones.
A nimble whoop for the gym or the garden. BNF version - add the radio and goggles next to it.
Jumper T14 Hall ELRS 2.4G Radio
An ExpressLRS radio that binds to a whoop today and a 5" drone next year.

Who it's for
Gifts for beginners
Complete sets with nothing missing.
🌱 Beginner🎁 RTF sets🎮 Simulator

A small, tough radio for the first hours in a simulator and then for a real ExpressLRS drone.
A set with drone, goggles, radio and charger, with digital video. The charger needs a 12–15 V adapter.

Mode 2 - throttle on the left stick, the standard in Europe.

Gifts for analog pilots
Low latency, cheap parts and pure flying.
📺 Analog🥽 Goggles📡 Receivers

Premium analog goggles with OLED displays for pilots who want the best of analog.
A fast analog whoop for the gym or the garden. BNF version for pilots who already have a radio and goggles.

Flying style
Gifts for digital pilots
HD image in the goggles and footage you won't be ashamed of.
📺 DJI📺 Walksnail📺 HDZero
Digital has one golden rule: the camera and transmitter must match the goggles. DJI with DJI, Walksnail with Walksnail, HDZero with HDZero, and the same goes for Ascent or BETAFPV P1. If you don't know which goggles the pilot has, check the label on them or send us a photo of their gear and ask us.
A Walksnail digital camera and transmitter set for a custom build. For pilots with Walksnail goggles.
A small drone with the Ascent digital system - HD video at a sensible price. For pilots with Ascent-compatible goggles.

The racing version of the popular Tinyhawk with fast 30,000 KV motors.
BETAFPV Racing Circle Gates (4 pcs)
Four gates for your own track at home, in the gym or in the garden.

Flow, tricks and props that break faster than you can buy them.
🌀 Freestyle🏚️ Bando⚡ 5"

A 5" freestyle drone with DJI O4 Pro. Receiver-less version for pilots with a DJI controller.

Longer flights, a reliable signal and GPS just in case.
📡 Long range🛰️ GPS📶 868 MHz
A long range pilot above all needs a reliable link, which is why radios with ExpressLRS on the 868 MHz band and a drone with GPS return-to-home are so popular. Our Lukáš also loves combining long range with freestyle.
iFlight Nazgul Evoque F7 O4 Pro GPS
A 7" drone with DJI O4 Pro and GPS. Receiver-less version for DJI controllers.

Ask us
Still not sure? Ask us
Feeling unsure about gifts for pilots is completely normal – that's why it's the question we get asked most in December. Write to us who the gift is for, how much you want to spend and what they fly (a photo of their drone or goggles is enough). Our Jakub will recommend a specific item.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about gifts for FPV pilots
Which drone should I buy as a gift for a beginner?
The safest choice is an RTF set, i.e. drone, radio and goggles in one box, for example the Emax EZ Pilot or the BETAFPV Cetus Lite Kit. An even better start is a radio with a simulator, where the pilot learns the controls without any risk. You'll find ideas in the beginners section.
From what age is an FPV drone suitable for a child?
Our youngest pilot Ruda started at nine with a small whoop. For kids we recommend light drones with ducted props, a simulator and adult supervision. The flying rules, including registration, are summarised in How to Fly FPV Drones Without Breaking the Law.
How do I know the gift will be compatible with the pilot's gear?
Check three things: the video system (analog, DJI, Walksnail, HDZero), the radio protocol (usually ExpressLRS 2.4 GHz, 868 MHz for long range) and the battery connector. If you're not sure, send us a photo of the pilot's gear and we'll help.
What if the gift isn't right?
As a consumer in the EU, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. You'll find the details in the e-shop's terms and conditions.
Are the prices in the article up to date?
Yes. We load the price and availability of every product live from the e-shop, so you see exactly what's on the product page, including any discounts.
