How to choose a GPS module
- Chipset: the current M10 for the fastest fix, the older M8N still does the job
- Size: nano modules (GOKU GM10 Nano) for small builds, larger modules with a better antenna for long range
- Compass: versions with a magnetometer pay off in INAV and Ardupilot for precise heading hold
Why GPS on an FPV drone
In Betaflight it is mainly GPS Rescue (automatic return when the signal is lost), in INAV full waypoint navigation. For centimetre accuracy reach for RTK modules, mounts and compasses are in GPS accessories.
