Drone bags, how to choose?
The right drone bag is more than just a carrying case, it is an organized system for all of a pilot's gear. The deciding factors are drone size, capacity and durability.
Types of bags
- Compact backpacks: for DJI Mini and micro FPV drones; fit in airplane cabin luggage; ideal for travel
- Medium backpacks: for a DJI Mavic, Air or a 5″ FPV drone with accessories; the usual size for everyday use
- Large backpacks and cases: for DJI Matrice, Cinelifters or entire racing kits; hard shell or rigid structure
What to look for in a good bag?
- Rigid padded compartments: protection for the drone and cameras against shocks
- Battery compartments: separate storage for LiPo batteries, ideally with a safety lining
