How does FPV over optical fiber work?
As it flies, the drone unwinds a thin optical fiber from a spool behind it. The onboard unit sends video and data down the fiber to a ground receiver. The link cannot be jammed or intercepted and works reliably even behind obstacles, where a radio signal stands no chance.
What you will find in this category
Optical transceivers
Pilotix transceivers for both the air and ground side of the link in 20 to 80 km variants, including standalone PCB boards for custom integration.
Optical fibers
Optical fiber spools in lengths of 10 to 30 km; the fiber length determines the maximum range of the setup.
Optical receivers
Receivers for the ground station, including digital variants and Phynan Photon VTX and VRX sets.
Who are optical fiber solutions for?
This is specialized technology for professional and experimental use: inspections in halls, tunnels and underground, research and operation in environments with heavy interference. We are happy to advise you on a complete setup.
You will find related gear in the Long Range drones and FPV parts categories.
