    Stacks, FC and ESC as one unit

    A stack is a package of a flight controller (FC) and ESC from the same manufacturer, designed to work together perfectly. It eliminates the most common beginner mistake: combining an incompatible FC and ESC.

    Advantages of a stack over separate boards

    • Guaranteed compatibility: FC and ESC from one manufacturer, tested together
    • Simpler wiring: a direct connector or a short stacking cable
    • Better firmware support: the manufacturer releases updates for the whole stack at once
    • Compact dimensions: a layout optimized for a specific frame format

    How to choose a stack?

    • 20×20 mm format: micro drones 2″ to 3″, Cinewhoop
    • 30×30 mm format: the standard for 5″ freestyle and racing drones
    • FC processor: F4 for basic builds, F7/H7 for advanced filters and more UART ports
    • ESC current rating: 35A for 5″, 45 to 55A for 6″ and more powerful drones
