Optical Fiber
Optical fiber is the consumable heart of fiber transmission: the drone unwinds the spool in flight and the fiber length sets the maximum range. On offer are complete Pilotix modules with a spool (10 to 30 km) plus standalone spools and G657.A2 specification cable in lengths up to 60.5 km.

How to choose fiber
- Module with a spool: the simplest route, a spool ready to mount on the drone with in-flight unwinding
- Standalone spools: refills once your fiber is used up, lengths of 15 to 60.5 km
- Flexibility: G657.A2 fiber tolerates tight bend radii, exactly what unwinding from a flying drone demands
Fiber is a single-use material: it is not rewound after the flight, so treat it as a consumable cost of the mission. The active units are in optical transceivers and optical receivers.
