How to choose a battery
- Cell count (S): 1S for Tinywhoops, 4S and 6S for 5 inch drones, higher configurations for large builds
- Capacity: more capacity means longer flights but also more weight; 1300 to 1500 mAh is the standard for 5 inch freestyle
- Discharge rate (C): racing and freestyle demand a high C rating, Li-ion packs with a lower C fly longer
- Connector: XT60 as the standard, XT30 for smaller builds, BT2.0 and PH2.0 for whoops
Safety first
Store LiPo batteries at storage voltage in a safety bag and charge them on a quality charger with a balancer. Attach them to the drone with straps.
